Super Bowl Sunday sale!!

say that 3 times fast!

ftbl

"Ladies & gentlemen, start your stitching...."

Sorry, right town wrong sport.

This Sunday, in honor of our annual sale, the NFL has graciously decided to play their last game of the season (after the sale is over, of course).   Kind of them, no?  Ever since the Eagles hired their current quarterback, I've boycotted the Eagles specifically & the NFL in general.  I can't actually say that I've missed it tremendously, as I've got baseball thru October (both MLB & Little League).  Also, I've watched more & more of the Flyers - hockey, for those of you not familiar with the Philadelphia sports teams.  I actually know who plays on which lines - and I know what lines are - I still don't get icing or offsides or whatever.  In fact, I actually watched the All-Star game last weekend!

But back to football!!

Someone asked the other day how long we'd been having this sale.  I'd like to say I remember it like yesterday.....but I don't.  So using my deductive thought processing skills (lots of Nancy Drew mysteries, Perry Mason, Law & Order....), I think the first one was in 1983.  We had moved the shop in the fall of 1982 & I think the first sale was Super Bowl 1983.  So I'm going out on a limb & saying this is our 30th Super Bowl Sale.  Although, there have been some years that, due to the weather, we've had to have 2.....do you think that counts as 1 or 2?

But I digress.....

Join us on Sunday, February 5th for our 30th annual Super Bowl Sale!!!

Kick off is at 12 Noon.  Feel free to arrive a wee bit early for the Pre-Game, where you can purchase your Girl Scout Cookies right outside our front door (Woohoo! This is by far my favorite part of Super Bowl).  Cookies are not discounted & worth EVERY PENNY (believe me, I've already motored thru four eight boxes so far & they're better than ever).  They are $3.50 per box ~ please bring cash or a check for cookies, as they don't take credit cards.

Here are the ground rules:

*Game time is 12 noon to 4PM  ~  no overtime (or you WILL see some sudden death).

*All items are 20% off (only exclusions are DMC & large Dazor lamps).

*There will be no framing or finishing taken in on Sunday.

*If we are out of something, you can order it; as long as you pay for it on Sunday, you'll get your discount.

*Looking for something we don't normally carry?  If it's available from one of our regular suppliers, we can get it for you & it will be eligible for your discount.

What if you couldn't get tickets for the big game (er, sale)?

No worries, you can order online - just be sure to get your order in on Sunday (NO PHONE ORDERS).  You can order using our shopping cart or you can email us your order ~ whatever makes ya happy.

Shopping Cart Note: our shopping cart DOES NOT calculate your discount, so don't go all "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" or we'll throw a flag & penalize you. We will deduct your discount when we process your order.

*All Super Bowl orders will be processed & charged on Sunday or Monday, so don't panic.  Orders will be shipped beginning on Monday, but please keep in mind that many items may have to be reordered before we can fill your order, as this place usually looks like a bomb went off after this sale!

*All orders must be received ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5th.  I'm so sorry if you'll be on an around the world cruise or climbing Mt Everest & won't have internet access - be sure to have your personal assistant take care of that for you!!

*We won't be answering the phone on Sunday (our headsets seem to malfunction & we don't want to miss a call).

What's new??

Glad you asked!  We always seem to approach Super Bowl in a holding pattern due to the fact that the Nashville Market is at the end of the month.  HOWEVER, we do have great stuff here & of course you can order any of the "future releases" during the sale.  Molly & I will be frantically posting any & all new items we see.  This is one of the few times I'll put FUTURE ITEMS in the newsletter, so keep that in mind.

We have left all the "New Items" in their weekly updates, so the ones you scope out won't suddenly be moved (we did that one year before Super Bowl &, well, let's just say, we learned our lesson).  So shop up & stock up; if you need supplies for a project that aren't listed, just note it in the comment section of your order (or send us an email if you forget).

fox    fox

The Inn at Fox River Mill - from Little House.  Molly just finished stitching this & Lise framed it & we are lovin' it!!  Molly changed the words \because she loved the little fox (she has a fox family that "visits" her yard) & she lives in a town called St Davids.  This design originally had the fox on the left & a man on the right of the tree.  Molly took the big fox, reversed it & stitched it over one thread.  ADORABLE!!!

march

March Wordplay - from Country Stitches. I really like that this is "March-y" without being all St Patty's day.

bun

Bunnies - from Prairie Schooler. From "American Gothic" to the Easter Bunny, this is just a celebration of spring!

Live Simple Be Content - from Bucilla. This kit is a pastoral scene right out of Lancaster County.  I could probably find this exact farm there!

August - from Prairie Schooler. Old MacDonald needs to save some of that feed for Arnold (the pig from Green Acres - remember?).  I don't know why, but this book TOTALLY reminds me of that show!!

January - from Prairie Schooler. Sorry, but if your feet & fingers glow, you got bigger problems than a Snow Day!

Well, folks, at the risk of tempting fate, this week we had the penultimate, PERFECT winter day.....It was sunny & 68 degrees (which  still qualifies as below freezing in my world since it is below the 70-degree mark, but still...).  We were sure we'd have a Daisy Duke/UPS sighting, but alas.... Lise's mom sent us a picture of the flowers coming up at Longwood & we're quite sure the long, dark winter is almost over, regardless of what that rodent said.

Today was CAKE day!!

cake

Sadly, we have no birthdays during the month of January, so we must arbitrarily pick a random cake day (sad, isn't it?). Yes, I realize it's February, but we wanted THIS cake & it's rather a complicated process.  Before you ask, no. None of us made this.  It comes from an awesome bakery called, "What's for Dessert?" & it's in Holland, PA (which, if you're not familiar with our area, is NOT right around the corner).  However it IS near the dentist that Molly's roommate goes to & she had an appt on Thursday!  But the dentist called & cancelled.  We told Claire she had to go anyway & GET OUR CAKE!!!!  Thus, the reason that January cake day was in February.  The folks at the bakery were a little bewildered that we didn't want anything "on" the cake (can we get extra frosting??).

after

End of the day~I know, you're shocked, there's some left!  We're not COMPLETE pigs (oh wait, yes we are....).  We're saving a little for the gals who weren't here today....

AND......

when we opened our boxes from UPS today, Molly's mom & dad sent us Super Bowl supplies:

brn

Yep!  That's right.  That's 3 different "flavors", 2 full stacks of brownies from the Woodstock Farmer's Market!!!  Mary B. & Ted always take such good care of us (hopefully our new, 2-size larger sweatpants are coming next week).

So for all y'all headed our way on Sunday, we'll be sugared up & ready to roll!!

See ya on Sunday....

and....

PLAY BALL!!!

Hugs & stitches ~
